We partnered with Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, a specialist service supporting women and children affected by domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, FGM or forced marriage.
We trained BSWA workers to deliver our accreditation programme locally, enabling a pilot cohort of eight city centre clubs and bars to better understand, respond to and prevent sexual harassment and assault on their premises. We then surveyed nightlife users to understand their attitudes to safety locally. An in-depth evaluation is being undertaken by Dr. Zara Quigg of Liverpool John Moores university will demonstrate the impact of our work and its application in different UK nightlife contexts. This partnership is funded by ROSA.
